Responsive design has been buzzing on the internet since Ethan Marcotte’s post on A List Apart last May. It takes into account the fact that there is a growing number of devices that people are using to interact with the web. Everything from smartphones, tablets, large monitors, small monitors, e-readers, mobile phones, games consoles, netbooks and even my little Nintendo DS. Responsive websites respond to the device upon which they are viewed. That means that when new devices arrive on the market a responsive site should look great on it. I’m looking forward to seeing a responsive website projected onto the back of my retina. I love the future :D
There aren’t that many responsive WordPress themes around so I thought I’d do a round-up of the trailblazers in the WordPress community. Download them, install them, and enjoy resizing your screen to watch them flow.

I love clean and simple WordPress themes. Some of these I have seen and some I have not. Very nice.
Some other quality responsive themes I see are from Themify: http://themify.me/themes

Thanks Ed! I’ve added Constellation to the list :) I didn’t manage to pick it up when I was searching. I really couldn’t find very many.
You are welcome Siobhan. Responsive themes are definitely thin on the ground at the moment. I think that will hopefully change quite quickly in the next 6 months.

Nice selection of responsive themes indeed. Cheers! Really looking forward to trying out some of these. Might even give Thematic another go – as I’ve never thought it very easy to customise!

Thanks for this compilation of responsive themes! Reminds me a bit of the old discussion about fluid layouts. ;-)
Will there also be WPMU fluid themes in the near future? I would love to see some more as I find many mobile versions of websites difficult to use because they are missing parts of menus or navigation and I also don’t like when a mobile version has a very different design. This feels especially bad when there are a lot of returning visitors that are used to the “normal” design and then find a different version on their smartphone or tablet…

I found my reponsive design theme. Thank you very much.
I have read some excellent stuff here. Certainly price bookmarking for revisiting. I wonder how so much effort you put to make this kind of magnificent informative web site.
Its like you learn my mind! You seem to understand so much approximately this, such as you wrote the e book in it or something. I believe that you just could do with a few % to drive the message house a little bit, however other than that, this is fantastic blog. An excellent read. I will definitely be back.
Yoko is an excellent theme.
Hey there, You have performed a great job. I will certainly digg it and personally recommend to my friends. I’m confident they will be benefited from this website.

Hey thanks super theme
It is great to see a Thematic theme in this list. I am a big fan of thematic and I had no idea someone had come up with a responsive version.
How did you pull this together?
Great list.
