Our followers on Twitter quite often ask us where they can find BuddyPress themes. Searching Google can be a bit overwhelming and tedious when you’re in the market for a theme. That’s why we’ve prepared this list of places where you can find both free and commercial BuddyPress themes. BuddyPress.org

BuddyPress.org has a long list of free themes, although many of them are outdated and not compatible with the most recent version of BuddyPress. The handy thing about viewing themes at BuddyPress.org is that they all have star ratings and clearly-displayed version info, as it pulls those tagged with BuddyPress from the WordPress.org Theme Directory.

Themeforest

Themeforest has a growing number of commercial BuddyPress themes available, a few of which have already fetched thousands of sales. Themes can be sorted by date, price, rating, author, sales and category.

Themekraft

Themekraft currently has one professionally-supported BuddyPress theme called Custom Community Pro. It is actually a theme framework under continuous development and it ships with tons of predefined settings, easy options and shortcodes for use in customizing your community.

WPMU DEV

WPMU Dev has approximately 20 BuddyPress themes, several of which are free. All of the themes integrate nicely with WordPress multisite as well as a vast array of professionally-supported plugins.

BuddyBoss

The BuddyBoss theme is unique in that it includes profile activity streams, similar to a Facebook “Wall”. It also has built-in photo uploading, a simplified registration form, nicely styled forums and several other unique features. The BuddyBoss team is devoted to maintaining the theme and improving on it with each new release.

PressCrew

The PressCrew team has created Infinity, an anti-framework for WordPress, BuddyPress and Multisite. It is a developer/designer-friendly theming engine on which you can build some powerful child themes. Infinity is now out of private beta and can be accessed on github.

3oneseven

All of the BuddyPress themes at 3oneseven are free to download. Milo, the designer, has been releasing themes since the early days of BuddyPress and now has approximately a dozen themes of varying styles for download.

The Theme Loom offers several responsive HTML5 BuddyPress themes. They are built with on a solid framework with powerful features, such as custom events management post type, widgets, typography options with Google fonts, localization, and more.

Rocket Theme

RocketTheme has a couple of different commercial BuddyPress themes, but they are not easy to sort or search on the site. Tachyon is one of their most recent BuddyPress releases and it runs on the Gantry Framework.

Frisco

Frisco is a free, responsive BuddyPress child theme available on github or WordPress.org. The huge advantage of this theme is that it’s ready to go for viewing on mobile devices. It basically gives the “bp-default” theme a fresh look with CSS.
