WordPress Plugins For Coupon Websites

Daily Deal And Coupon Websites Can Be Built On The WordPress Platform
You Will Probably Not Get An OK Deal Here.

A big part of the force behind the explosion of Daily Deals sites and Groupon clones has been that people really just like a good deal.  Everyone likes to save a little money when given the chance.

And as anyone who has ever waited in line on Black Friday can tell you, an opportunity to get a good bargain can motivate a lot of unusual and energetic behavior.

This is why so many merchants sign up for coupon and deals services.  They see that a great deal can convert a casual visitor into a lifelong customer.  So, when you are trying to think of ways to convert your website’s hesitant visitors into motivated customers, a coupon can do the trick by tapping into some of that deal-hunting enthusiasm.  If you are not a merchant, but a blogger, you can use the lure of finding great deals to attract people to your site for repeat visits.

Coupon Creator Plugins

Here are some plugins that make the process of creating and advertising coupons easy.

Coupon Creator: Creates customizable coupons that can be displayed on your site with a shortcode.   Surprisingly easy to use, the plugin creates a Coupon section in your WordPress admin menu.  Click on Add New to create your first coupon.   You will be required to: enter the discount amount or deal type (ex. Buy 1, Get 1 Free); choose the background color, text, and border color of your coupon; list the terms of the coupon; mark the expiration date when it will no longer be eligible and will automatically disappear from the site; add an image (this is actually optional, but recommended). Press Publish and it is ready to go.

Too Good To Be True? Act Now!

Navigate to a page or post and you will see a little Coupon Creator icon.  Click on that icon and select the coupon you would like to use from the list of coupons you have already made.  Once selected, the coupon shortcode will be automatically inserted into your text editor and will be ready to be viewed when the post or page is published.

DRP Coupon: Allows you to add coupons to your posts and pages, as with Coupon Creator, but is best suited to pushing products from an affiliate marketing program. Although you are not able to customize the look of the coupon, what you are able to do is to enter a coupon code and a link URL.   For the user to be able to copy the coupon code, they must click on the link (the other options have been disabled) and will be directed to the link URL.  This means that when you advertise coupons for an affiliate program, you can be sure that you will get the deserved referral payout.

Coupon Blogging Plugins

Here are some plugins that make coupon blogging a snap.

A WordPress Coupon Blog Can Bring Attention To Your Website.
Attract Attention By Giving People What They Want.

Ultimate Coupon Feed: Simplifies coupon blogging by auto-creating coupon blog posts.  Once enabled, the plugin will grab coupons from major retailers and create draft blog posts with those coupons.  You can simply navigate to your posts folder and publish the ones that you think your readers would like.  If you would like to enable or disable a retailer, simply head to their options page in the Settings panel and disable the retailer.  They offer coupons from Walmart, Target, CVS, Albertsons, and a number of major coupon aggregators.

Coupon Store: Provides shortcodes that allow you to embed coupon stores into the pages and posts of your website.  Simply install the plugin and insert one of their merchant shortcodes to display a coupon store on your site.  The plugin currently offers coupon stores from Coupon Network, Redplum, and SmartSource.

Coupon Grab: Grabs printable coupons at a time interval of your choosing and turns them into posts.  Depending on the option selected, the plugin can either auto-generate the posts as drafts or directly publish them.  In addition, Coupon Grab automatically creates categories, so it is easier to integrate into the normal blogging functions of your site.   You can also customize the HTML of the auto-generated posts to make them better suit your site’s theme and functions.
