We’ve been keeping up to date with what’s available so you don’t have to spend hours searching. Check out the list below and hopefully you’ll find a theme to use as a starting point for your own BuddyPress theme customization.

  1. I love the themes and am personally very excited about the p2 buddypress. I also love the Maximus theme however I had lots of issues trying to download it. The creators download site is loaded with popups and possibly viruses. My antivirus stopped three intrusions while on the site.

  2. Yes I am surprised that WPMU org would suggest themes that are only downloaded through a virus and popup laden link. Love Maximus too but it makes the author look shady and I will not download from any author that wants people to go through that. Can’t trust that the themes themselves are clean when you do that.

  3. Contact the theme developer if you like that one and see if he’ll change his download link ;)

    I’d uploaded the my themes file to ziddu.com temporarily ( had conflicting download Mng plugin issues with New WP Version). I think the pop up are not virus but ads. Contact me I will email you any theme myself. Blogcastor is under major development process and will take some time to be user friendly. Kindly bear with me.

    I will give the download link here for the maximus theme in my next comment.

  5. Thanks for including my BuddyPress WP theme conversions here.
    Lots more to come once I get any issues with the current ones ironed out.

  6. You can download Maximus Buddypress theme from this link
    http://blogcastor.com/groups/blogcastor-theme-support/forum/topic/maximus-buddypress-theme-intallation-support/

    #don’t share the download link, it’s temporary.

  7. I love Hybrid Theme, clean and simple. The way I like it!

  8. Awesome list!!! Thanks! Will try some of them instantly.

    Didn’t your theme Twenty Ten get selected as the new standard/starting theme for wordpress? It looks familiar…

    Thanks again!

  9. Thanks for this list! I was just about to start looking, and this will save me a ton of time. I already see 2 or 3 I love. Now, how do I decide? ;)

  10. I tried to use the Maximus theme – which is looking quite fine, btw – but ended up with a fatal error on the homepage.

    The header is displayed ok, then the featured articles area is missing and within the next area (sticky post) I get this fatal error: “Fatal error: Call to undefined function the_content_limit() in /home/handbalf/public_html/wp-content/themes/maximus-buddypress/_inc/stickypost.php on line 25. There seems to be no such function – the_content_limit() – in the stickypost.php file…

    Given this error, the following content is not rendered and the page is broken.

    Also, the theme options (within the dashboard) are missing their content – only the menu is shown to me eye. Clicking any of the tabs:

    * General
    * SEO
    * Homepage
    * Navigation
    * Manage Ads

    will result in no action, not one single option being displayed. I can see (by simply making a CTRL^C on the tabs) that those options are present but not displayed and, as a consequence, rendering invalid any attempt to tweak the theme.

  11. As I discovered, the fatal error was triggered due to an inactivated plugin which comes packed with the theme. Once the limit-post plugin is activated the sticky post is displayed correctly and the rest of the page rendered (thou some elements are still broken – might be some CSS issues, cannot say).

    The Featured article section still doesn’t show up so I guess is related to some options of the theme (I tried to create a Featured category and attached some posts to it but with no result)…

  12. Some new themes in this collection. I can see some new magazine style themes. Thanks for sharing.

  13. Thanks for including my theme in your list :) I’m working on two more right now and customizations for some users that use my theme, but want it tweaked a little. :)
