bbPress 2.0 Plugin Released Today

bbPressWe’ve been following each beta release of the bbPress plugin and now the final 2.0 release is here, coinciding with BuddyPress 1.5! bbPress 2.0 brings forums into WordPress in a simple and natural way. It also now integrates perfectly with BuddyPress and Akismet with no additional configurations to make. Long gone are the days of pulling out your hair to get forums working with WordPress!

Why is bbPress 2.0 awesome? John James Jacoby sums up what’s new in the announcement blog:

Simply by activating bbPress 2.0, any standard WordPress theme is suddenly capable of having support forums, user profiles, topic tags, and custom topic views. Your users are able to mark topics as favorites to read them later, and can subscribe to be notified via email to topic replies, so they never miss out on the conversation.
