WP Charity Releases Two Free WordPress Themes

This week WP Charity released a couple of free themes, both of which are Twenty Eleven child themes.

The first theme is called Silver and it includes custom and random images for the header, custom drop-down menus, author info, two columns, threaded comments, and custom backgrounds.

Paper is the second theme. It’s a bit more simple, as it doesn’t include the large header image that you usually expect from Twenty Eleven.

WP Lift Enters the Free Theme Market with Busby

Oliver Dale of WP Lift and Kooc Media has released his first free WordPress Theme and it’s certainly a goodun. Busby is a clean, beautifully designed theme that is perfect for personal blogging. It’s got its own options panel using the UpThemes Framework. As it’s the first release of the theme he’s requesting that people report bugs so that he can then upload to the WordPress respository.

PressWork Officially Launches Free Drag-and-Drop WordPress Framework

The new PressWork framework for WordPress officially launched at WordCamp Montreal. Last week I wrote a little preview of the new HTML5 framework, which is unique in that it allows you to change your site’s layout and design in a live preview environment.

Create a Quick and Dirty Plugin to Tweak Your WordPress 3.2 UI

There have been some mutterings from people around the WordPress-o-sphere complaining about the new UI that’s appearing with WordPress 3.2. I don’t have particularly strong feelings about the design – which is perhaps what bothers me. I think I’d prefer to either love it or hate it.
