New Plugin Clones Content from Any URL to WordPress

A new plugin from Andrew Norcross allows WordPress users to copy content from one site to another using nothing but the URL. URL Cloner gives you the option to select the post type, publish status, category, author, and set the original publish date.

This plugin is especially helpful for those difficult content migrations where the original site is using an incompatible CMS or much older version for which there is no exporting tool. Download URL Cloner for free from the WordPress plugin repository.

    • Gary: copy + paste is certainly possible, although many times that carries over a lot of extra markup or scripts you don’t want. This is intended for bringing over content from a site that isn’t going to be live anymore, but there is an option to include a canonical back to the original source if need be.
