State of the Word 2011 Video Now Available

WordPress.tv has posted Matt Mullenweg’s State of the Word 2011 address. Even if you weren’t able to attend WordCamp San Francisco, this video should give you some of the recent highlights from the WordPress community.

We’ve also embedded the video here for your convenience:

Matt covers the results of the recent survey of WordPress users and makes some big announcements, including a new policy concerning the WordPress plugin repository. Now when you search the repository you will only see results for plugins that have been updated in the past two years. This is a huge improvement and a step in the right direction towards making the repository more useful to WordPress users.
