They are not willing to change how this works, so Mark Jaquith created Manual Control for Jetpack, a plugin that gives you the freedom to activate the modules that you choose. When Manual Control for Jetpack is activated, new Jetpack modules will not be automatically turned on without your permission. There are times when a module can change how your site works and looks, so as a preemptive measure I urge you to install this plugin if you’ve got Jetpack running on your WordPress site.
