Slidedeck is a jQuery Slider Plugin which allows you to easily insert a shiny slider to display images and featured posts on your WordPress website. It comes with two versions: free and pro. You can use this across your site and there is even a handy snippet that you can stick in your template to use as a header.
Features
- Slidedeck comes with a whole load of features. Here are just a few:
- SEO Friendly
- Autoplay
- Slider Mode
- Full CSS customization
- Custom Skins
- Smart Slidedeck
- Touch screen support (this is for the Pro version only but it’s a fantastic feature!)
Our Mini Review
I love things that make your WordPress website look like you’ve got crazy design & programming skills when you actually have none at all. That makes me a big fan. I especially love the Smart Slidedeck feature which allows you to feed featured posts from your blog into the slider. What I would love is to get access to some of those Touch screen features on the free version but hey, I guess those guys gotta make some money.

I wish you could set particular pages as the slider content!
Thanks for noticing ovidiu – I have fixed that!!
Yeah, I agree Jack – I tend to use pages rather than posts on my homepage so that’d be nice.
Hey guys,
This is Dave, lead developer at digital-telepathy, first off I’d like to say thanks to WPMU.org for the coverage of SlideDeck, we really appreciate it :-)
Jack, in response to your question about using Pages, we are currently in a private beta release right now that takes advantage of WordPress 3.0′s custom post types capabilities to open up the kinds of posts you can use for our Smart SlideDecks – including pages. We should be releasing the final version of this update early next week, so stay tuned for an announcement!
Thanks again for the great coverage Siobhan!

We are currently testing a beta version of the plugin that will allow you to use either Posts, Custom Posts or Pages as content for Smart SlideDecks, so it’s coming soon! More info here: http://support.slidedeck.com/slidedeck/topics/custom_post_types_in_slidedeck#reply_3689952
Thanks for the responses. I’m looking forward to trying out SlideDeck using pages!
Hi guys. That’s great news – looking forward to trying out the update! :D
Morning i just stumbled your blog from Google but got a strange popup about dog hospitals which is obviously unrelated to your site. Is this your ads or do i have a spyware issue? Thanks.
