wp.mu boxWe’ve been working on a bit of a super cool project for the last few months that we think you’ll be interested in.

Not only because it’s got the best domain name ever, but also because it makes what was once difficult, cumbersome and tricky – simple, quick and easy.

Introducing our very own WordPress MU Installation and Hosting Service – WP.MU.

Here’s how it works:

1. You bring your own domain name and set up the nameservers as you please

2. You fill out our simple form and pay a once off fee

3. We install and configure the latest version of WPMU for you complete with all WPMU DEV Premium Plugins, over 100 themes (tested and ready to go), over 30 languages, a stack of regular plugins for your users

And that’s it – you receive FTP details, login information and everything else that you might require and you’re away.

You can use it for yourself or for your clients – and of course you canb get support for all of our custom plugins and themes (as well as any new ones we release) at WPMU DEV Premium (not to mention teh videos, advanced MU discussion etc. etc.)

So, whaddya reckon to that! We’d love to know your thoughts, feedback and questions – so fire away!

  1. Good score on the domain name!

  2. Thanks :) I was pretty pleased with it!

  3. Awesome! I’ve had an idea for an MU site for awhile and after looking into all that is needed to get an MU site up and going, I decdied to hold off. But, I may give this a try now.

Just to confirm. After the onetime fee of $195.00, the only ongoing fees are the $25 pSek charge for hosting?

    That’s it?

    1) What if the site grows? Will I have to upgrade in hosting plans?
    2) Can we install the BuddyPress plugins?

    Steve

  4. Hi Steve,

pSek do dedicated servers and reseller accounts too that’ll more than take care of your hosting requirements (we run several dedicated servers with them).

You can install anything you want :)

  5. I am interested in payment process.
Do you accept international credit cards or USA Cards or paypal?

  6. PayPal only I’m afraid.

  7. sounds interesting,

    1. what about plugin updates?

    2. and will you help me with transferring active blogs?

  8. Plugin updates are available via our WPMU DEV Premium service. As for us transferring your blogs, I’m afraid that’s not something we can assist with.

Also, I should note that we now allow you to select from any of the pSek hosting plans.

  9. looks like a great idea, do you have any examples of domains hosted yet? I’ll definitely go with Paypal – reason being – widely accepted.

    Thanks Paul | Avanta UK

  10. Interesting… I had an idea like this but never got it off the ground.

    Good luck!

    N.

  11. How does this package work out if I mainly want to run Buddypress sites?

I’m assuming that many of the WordPress mu plugins won’t be really appropriate.

  12. At the moment we’d advise against using BuddyPress but the 2.7.1 version (which we’ll put together shortly after its release) should be fine. Also, we may bring out a custom BP install too.

  13. Thanks for replying James. Please inform this blog post, as I’m subscribed to updates here when its available, as I’m currently investigating hosting options :)

  14. We’ll post on wpmu.org when it is (the comments auto close round here)
