by relevant I mean that plugins should not be specific to a particular niche or a single blog. I guess I mean something that'd useful to everyone.

Sounds pretty good, what do you mean by 'relevant'?

While I'm sure we'll encourage people to grab the feed I don't reckon we'd say that anyone has to do anything (for example, we might promote wpmudev.org but not require the use of it) - just so that everyone gets maximum flexibility.

there needs to be a format for submissions. reading the list for the other contest is madness. I understand that English is second language for some folks, but descriptions need to be clear and concise. no colloquialisms or glibness.

*contest 60 days.
*original plugin
*plugin must be relevant
*clean and legible code (code is poetry right? some people have bad handwriting.)
*vote by poll. voters have to register for your feed (love traffic!)

How does 60 sound? Just to make it a bit more exciting :)

The min sounds a bit unfair on submissions, if there are 8 really good ones then that would be a shame to draw them out... also, they all seem to get submitted in the last week, which would cause no end of stress!

Agreed re: brand new plugins.

And I think there'll be no shortage of testers :D

Hmmm, let's see.

Timeframe/Competition Length: 90 days, maybe? Enough time to get the brains storming, and the knuckles cracking out the code. :)

Voting is always good, once submissions have been closed.

I'd also like to see a set minimum for number of entries as well. Say it's 10, and by the end of the competition if there are only 8, then the competition runs until there are 10.

Would hate to see something where there are only a couple three plugins to select from.

Also, plugins should be brand new. Not revamps of someones work, one that was released last year, etc. Brand spanking new, just for the competition.

Oh, and it has to work, of course. :D
