Best way to track domain redirects?

0

I have a number of domains that I have pointed to my main site. These are mainly related names or mis-spellings and currently, I’m using the dns forwarding to point to the main domain.

Is there a way in WordPress (plugin?) that would allow me to have WP manage these other domains, redirect AND provide stats on the redirects?
Thanks

Hi KhakiMan

Hope you're doing well.

There are a few WordPress plugins that can help you map your domains (related names or misspellings) to your main domain.  A good one is http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-mu-domain-mapping/.

Another plugin that I can recommend is our premium Domain Mapping Plugin (http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/domain-mapping).  You can read more about the installation and how to set it up here:

http://premium.wpmudev.org/project/domain-mapping/installation/

That should also assist you to manage these domains.

Note that pointing your domains to your main site by using DNS forwarding is not advisable since Google doesn't really like duplicate content.

And then there's Google Analytics to provide the stats.  Check out this link on how to set up tracking for multiple sites on one account:

I hope this information is helpful.  If you need any further assistance, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
