I have my buddypress site with wordpress multisite enabled , I'm using wp 3.0.1 , and buddypress 1.2.5.2 ...

My website is in a shared hosting ...

It seems hypercache doesn't support buddypress !!

In this senario , will using W3 Total cache can be a good option ?

Yes Afam, in general caching allows WordPress to go faster than the 1 page per second (or new visitor) average speed that most dedicated servers can do into many thousands per second.

I should already change my caching plugin. Mine is old - wp-cache. So it's either this or W3 Total Cache.

Unfortunately, I have to offer a correction. W3 Total Cache can be used to tune any hosting account from shared to multiple servers. You can use as much or as little as you need and quite often for very budget conscious sites using page caching alongside a pay as you go content delivery network like Amazon Cloudfront is a good step to take as your site grows, such a scenario is only achieved using W3 Total Cache for example.
