Post formats are set to get a major shake up in version 3.6 of WordPress.
And it will be hard to miss them – post formats will be smack bang above the editor, all in a neat row of large icons.

Are you a photographer or a blogger who likes sharing photos on your website? Are you looking to start a photoblog using WordPress?
If so, then congratulations! You have come to the right place: in this article, I shall be taking a look at certain key points that one must bear in mind when creating a photoblog using WordPress.
1. Ok, So Do I Need To Do Any Homework?
Apparently, yes. Before you actually upload the images (and, more importantly, while you are uploading your images), you need to take care of certain points, starting with the following:

WPMU DEV’s Autoblog plugin is a powerful tool that pulls in RSS feeds and publishes them to your site. Many may think that just means it’s a device for splogs (spam blogs).
While a tool like Autoblog could be used for that, there’s isn’t much point in it. Search engines learned long ago that those types of sites don’t add much, and so they’ve devalued them into near oblivion.
For most tools, their value is only fully realized in the right hands. And that’s the case for Autoblog.
The Autoblog plugin as a splog creator is pretty much worthless.

This week on Best in WordPress we bring you posts focused on admin functions and a few tips and tricks for web designer and developers. Of course, we’d never leave out the WordPress newbies, so we’ve also included a few posts about great plugins and a fantastic new jQuery slider.
1. Customizing the WordPress Admin Area for Clients: WPTuts

I’ve been meaning to write this column for a while, which is to say I just thought of it and it interested me a lot more than the one I had planned. Sometimes that’s the same thing, or at least I can claim it is since this is my bloody column (insert still a column link and so on) and not even The Farmer can stop me from hitting that Publish button. I guess he could unpublish stuff though, but let’s cross that bridge when we get to it, shall we?

Is your WordPress blogging work space too cluttered? If so, try this out next time you’re in there. Go to the upper right hand corner and click the “screen options” tab, like this:
When you click that option, it brings up a couple of check boxes where you can hide unused features and even make your blogging work space display as one column:

Some things are just better live.
There’s an excitement and an energy that accompany live events. Political elections, sporting events, conferences, movie openings, TV shows, and even product releases all qualify as possible worthy subjects of live coverage.
The problem with blogging a live event with WordPress is that the system is not really set up for it. When you blog a live event, you need to move fast. Trying to create a new post or even update an existing post in a quick manner can be cumbersome and slow.

Hello my fellow WordPress bloggers.
In this blog, I’ll be giving you three simple steps I’ve used for over ten years to sell products and services with copywriting. Whether you’re selling in print or on the internet, these three simple steps are all you need to hit a home run with your copywriting.
Step One: List All the Features of Your Product
Start out by simply making a list of all the features of your product.

Yep, you’ve heard it before, “The money is in the list.” If you want to create an income with your WordPress site or as a blogger or WordPress developer, you need a solid list of loyal subscribers.
But if you’ve got only a handful of subscribers on your WordPress blog and none of them are commenting on your posts, this can be pretty discouraging. So I’m going to share five things that WILL increase your subscriber count and make your subscriber list more responsive starting today…
#1: Just Get the Email

Want some great blogging advice for making your WordPress site more conversational and engaging?
“Write like you talk.”
That’s probably the best piece of blogging advice you can get.
The problem is I just told you what to do, but not how to do it.
But it seems easy enough right? Just start writing and say things like you would if you were talking out loud. If only it worked out that way. Years of following rigid academic rules about writing have suffocated our ability to write good conversational blogs.
