This is a cool new feature of WordPress 3.5 that you may find to be incredibly useful. A new “Favorites” item has been added to the Plugins >> Add New sub-menu, which makes it possible for you to pull in favorited plugins from WordPress.org.
Add your username or anyone else’s and click “get favorites” to see a list of favorites. From here you can easily install all of them.
It’s a happy day in the world of WordPress. The 3.5 “Elvin” release is now ready for download. Yes, that’s right, the 3.5 release has been dubbed “Elvin” – not as in elves but rather named for jazz drummer Elvin Jones. Curious about what’s new? Here’s a quick summary:

Last week I talked about the yearly default WordPress themes, the recently released Twenty Twelve being the flavor of 2012. At least that’s the plan, December 5th is the launch date for WordPress 3.5 which will be the first version that’ll carry the Twenty Twelve theme by default, so they should be able to get that out this side of New Year’s.
The WordPress core development team is already busily preparing for the upcoming WordPress 3.5 release. The media library is due for some major changes. Daryl Koopersmith posted some slides for discussion on the make.wordpress.org blog. Here’s a sneak peak of the wireframes and workflows they’ve got in motion. Be advised that it’s not set in stone yet and not all of this will make it into the release.
