Nice one. Have a go at my Google Custom Search plugin as well. It integrates the search results into the default search results list. No need to alter the theme in any way and no more ugly iframe.

There's nothing built into the plugin to support that, but you could add this Javascript to your theme and get that result: https://gist.github.com/daveross/4748495#file-prevent_wordpress_search_enter-js

Hey Dave,

Loving this plugin. Any way to disable the enter/return submit button click so people never get forwarded to a "results" template screen?

Hi Phil - Yes, I did look at Yolink, but unfortunately I was getting errors when I installed it, so I didn't include it in the review. That might not be the case for everyone, but it was my case. When you review lots of plugins, you can't go down every rabbit hole hoping to get bugs worked out, so when I get errors, I typically move on unless it looks as if it can be easily fixed somehow. There were several others that gave me problems on installation as well. Often half or more of the plugins I test out don't work for one reason or another.

Hi Joe,

Thanks for helping cut through the search options.

Did you happen to look at yolink Search for WordPress?
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/yolink-search/

The developer of Relavanssi states that it is better for larger sites and less likely to cause crashes on large databases.
http://www.relevanssi.com/buy-premium/

Just curious if you tried it out.

It seems like Relevanssi (cheaper) is an excellent choice for smaller smaller sites and yolink (more expensive) may be for larger sites. Any input?

Thanks

Glad you like Dave's WordPress Live Search so much. I'm looking forward to releasing a new version soon that takes uses the new color pickers built into WordPress 3.5 to offer even more control over how it looks right from the admin screens.
