Would you prefer a link from Mashable or Problogger?

Looking through the stats on Blogs.mu this afternoon I thought I’d drill down into some of the great coverage we got when we launched, especially the articles in Mashable and Problogger.

Interestingly enough they’re very close together – next to each other in fact – and I think they tell an interesting story:

mashableproblogger

While Mashable is slightly on top in terms of visits – Problogger referrals are looking at a heap more pages (3.61 to 3.09) hanging around for over a minute longer and bouncing a lot less.

So, if you’re looking to launch something in the blogging field I reckon Darren’s your man… which never ceases to amaze me considering he’s staked up against some pretty major competition.

Needless to say though – I’m massively grateful to both sites (and everyone else!) who gave us some coverage.

And I totally promise that if you go out and tweet about Blogs.mu a bit more, and tell a few friends… I’ll stop posting about it here… well, at least at this frequency ;)

  1. Problogger! I can already link to myself. :)

  2. LOL, u certainly can :)

  3. Personally, since my blog is directly about meeting new people and hands-on teaching them (here’s hoping) before they burn out like I did from all the reading, and problogger is directly about monetizing a blog, I would prefer a link from him (‘sif my page could take it right now, don’t even have a cache in place) as long as it was anchored well, that would mean the world to me to get to the point where Darren, someone who I will share often with people who I develop relationships with, actually thought something enough of something I posted to link to me. It would also probably destroy my ability to talk to people one on one over time as well. lol. He recently released some stats, he was showing the effect of a digg on one day that he happened to be first page, but what caught my attention was his daily stream. Steady. I kind of hope that doesn’t happen with blog make money because I would be so busy :P

  4. It must be terrible being so popular ;)

  5. The answer to the question is simple….

    Both!!! :)

But the real problem is…. How To.. ?

  6. I think that for blogs.mu both Mashable and Problogger are a great fit. This is probably also why they were so happy to cover it.

Then, the really powerful links are the ones coming from actual users. It doesn’t hurt to ask for that too.

I send personal emails to users, asking them how it’s going. If they need any help, they’re invited to reply and I take care of it personally. If they’re happy, I remind them that they can help by telling about us. It works.

  7. Thanks for posting this.

I am an analytics junky.. great to see other stats.

  8. I also like both for my personal blog. Well, I would like anything that will generate visits to my site.

  9. Yea same here,i would like both!
