WPMU 2.6.5 has been released.

From Donncha:

This release also has a number of bug fixes, including a fix and improvements to rss caching. This is a required upgrade, so please install it as soon as you can.

Which I guess means a bit more work for y’all today :)

As this is most likely the last release before 2.7 – it also raises some interesting questions about how people are gonna handle switching their users to a brand new admin layout when that occurs.

I reckon there’s a decent article in that!

  1. I’m considering not upgrading to 2.7 at all. I think the 2.6 admin interface is better. Is there a way to use the 2.6 admin design on 2.7?

  2. It’s definitely skinnable, am not sure if there’s a plugin about for that yet though.

  3. Hey, is that some sort of hint? ;)

On the up side, for those who have put off upgrading since < 1.5, they can finally go over to 2.7 and skip the admin change in the middle.

I actually really like the 2.7 admin area, and the other changes in WPMU are really going to be exciting.

  4. I hate upgrading

  5. I’m with Joe. Although the 2.7 admin interface probably is visually more appealing than 2.6.5 I prefer 2.6.5
That and the fact that I constantly have to look where stuff has been put (the nav in my WP2.7 install works a little weird too, for some links the bg’s – Manage and Write – are missing, but I guess that’s a bug in my install) makes me considering not upgrading to 2.7
