Collaborative Translations Now Available for WPMU DEV Products
It’s been a popular request for a while now and we’re pleased to announce our Collaborative Translation site.
The new translations area of our site provides a way for members to share translations of WPMU DEV plugins and themes as well as an easy way to keep translations up-to-date.
The system allows current members to approve and make changes to existing translations, create and import new language sets, and export language files that are properly named and ready to drop into our products. Free WPMU DEV members can submit translations on a per string basis, pending review.
Allowing members to contribute and share translations makes sense. After all, a quick look around our forums reveals our members are from all corners of the world, not just English speaking countries.
Polyglots amongst our members have already begun translating our products and sharing their translations with others in the WPMU DEV community.
Our Collaborative Translations site is powered by GlotPress with some plugins to integrate with our membership system and custom theme. If you haven’t heard of GlotPress, it’s a collaborative, web-based software translation tool designed by WordPress contributors to help translators collaborate.
