You’re getting a decent amount of traffic on your WordPress site. Wouldn’t it be convenient to have a way to funnel your visitors’ information directly to a professional CRM where you can easily follow up with your prospects? Salesforce.com is making that possible with its new plugin that allows WordPress-powered sites to automatically add contacts and customers to a Salesforce CRM database.
WordPress-to-lead for Salesforce CRM is our featured business tool this week. If you get several hundred emails per day, then you know how easily potential customers can fall through the cracks. Keeping your website’s contacts separate from the avalanche of email that normally comes through is a smart idea. Because this plugin interfaces directly with your Salesforce CRM database, you will never have to copy and paste contacts that come through your website in order to add them to your follow up sequence.
WordPress-to-lead for Salesforce CRM enables you to:
- Track all conversations and interactions
- Organize your contacts and tasks in a single spot
- Easily synch with Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo!, and more
Check out this introductory video to find out how easy it is to set up:
The form can be inserted into any post or page quite easily with a shortcode. It also comes with a widget for inserting the form into the sidebar.
Sending information from a contact form to your email inbox isn’t always convenient for managing leads. When you send your website’s leads to Salesforce CRM, you’re more likely to have a structured follow-up strategy to help you achieve your goals.
If the purpose of your site is to generate sales leads for your business, then your contact form is perhaps the most important page of your website. Hook your WordPress site up to Salesforce CRM to automatically capture your leads. You’ll save yourself loads of time and keep potential customers from falling through the cracks.

This is great news. But:
* What about de-duplication…..does the plug only leverage web-2-lead functionality or does it also include ability to auto-dedupe by email within sforce?
* Can the plugin be mapped to non-lead objects such as ‘custom’ objects created by sforce admin?
Otherwise, great post!
Thanks
Jason
Jason- The plugin is fairly new, so I’m not sure that it allows custom object mapping yet, but I bet they would add it in for you if you asked them. :) They’re working on some new features for it.
This is a great idea. Just wish it was integrated with some open source CRM products. Not that $5/month is that bad, but free is still better:-)

I’m not using one yet. I haven’t found one that was sufficiently easy and effective for what I want. So, I’ll keep looking. SugarCRM is the gold standard, but likely over kill for me. Although, I might get started with it just because it’s open source. I’m also considering a few that are integrated with Google Apps. We’ll see.
