WooDojo is a theme-independent collection of plugins that enhance WordPress functionality and theme management — a “functionality suite”.

WooDojo is a brand-new functionality suite that democratizes awesome functionality that was previously only available via our themes. This means you can now use WooDojo functionality with *any* theme, regardless whether it is from WooThemes or not. :)

WooDojo was released in April 2012, had over 12,000 downloads in its first week, and became Securi Security approved earlier this month.

WooDojo is free but requires activation to use. You can create a WooThemes account by downloading a free or paid theme, or directly via your wp-admin area after plugin activation. If you logout, your modules will not deactivate and your settings won’t change.

All these features, and more, are included or available for free:

• Tabbed Widget, for displaying widget content in a tabbed format
• CSS and HTML code customizations that can be inserted into your theme, site-wide
• Widget for displaying social profile information, including Instagram profile, Instagram images, Twitter profile, and Tweets
• URL shortening, via the service of your choice (Native, Bitly, or TinyURL)
• Login (wp-login) page logo and text customizations
• Widget display settings, to display specified widgets only to Administrators
• Maintenance mode, with options to disable for the selected user level (e.g. Administrator, Editor, Author, etc.)

• Menu options to display specified menus per page/post, in the active theme’s nav areas
• Launch Pad, with countdown timer and newsletter signup form (integrated with FeedBurner, Campaign Monitor, and MailChimp)
• HTML Term Description, used to describe categories and terms with the ease of a WYSIWYG editor
• InspirePay Donations, optional fixed-amount or ability for visitors to enter their own amount
• Muso Widgets Pack, used to display your SoundCloud tracks and playlists or Last.fm top tracks, top artists, and recent tracks
• Tab Grouping, used with the Tabbed Widget
• WooCommerce
• WooSidebars, enabling theme-independent widget settings

Within the WooDojo wp-admin page, each module is able to be installed, activated, and deactivated (only able to delete downloaded modules via FTP). Uninstalled modules have a grey color; installed but inactive modules are red; and active modules are shown with a green circle.

The WooDojo toolkit will remind you of the Jetpack plugin, easy and enjoyable to use. If I had to pick one, my favorite WooDojo module would be WooSidebars because it’s annoying losing widget settings when switching themes. I like a lot of the features, and I like that it comes from WooThemes.

I can’t think of a reason not to include WooDojo into all your WordPress.org sites.
