When setting up a new WordPress site, sometimes you want to be able to work on it behind the scenes while capturing any potential visitors’ information.

While there are many plugins in the WordPress repository that do this, the Ultimate Coming Soon Page plugin is a relatively new option that really simplifies the process. It gives you the ability to quickly and easily set up a coming soon page for your website.

Check out an example:

Here’s what we like about the Ultimate Coming Soon Plugin:

  • Works with any WordPress Theme
  • Completely customizable look and feel including Background Color and Image, Logo, Fonts etc..
  • Easily add Custom CSS and HTML
  • Works with several mailing list providers: FeedBurner (More Coming Soon)
  • Integrated with Google Fonts
  • Uses HTML5 & CSS3

I also love the plugin author’s explanation of why it does not does not include a countdown:

OK, I’m going to say it. Countdowns are super lame. Sites never launch on time. I highly suggest not putting a countdown on your site. If you feel you must have one then use the custom html and javascript option to add in your countdown code.

Agreed! Nothing cheesy about this one – just the essentials.

All of the option are easily changed in the plugin’s settings panel so you can quickly customize your page:

Continue to work on your website while capturing visitor information

The coming soon page will only be visible to non-logged in users. You can continue to build your site without showing everything in process. Visitors will see your polished coming soon page.

Your coming soon page needs to leave a good impression and create some anticipation. The most important thing is to present a quality page that will inspire visitors to want to get signed up to be notified when you go live. Download the Ultimate Coming Soon Page Plugin for free from the WordPress plugin repository and customize your own coming soon page in a matter of minutes.

  9. the ulitmate coming soon can i allow to have one landing page live or insert a gravity form on the custom html feild?

  10. Really nice plugin. I’ll be sure to donate if it stays stable. It’s the ONLY plugin I’ve found that allows me to toggle individual sites on and off (on a multisite setup). The other ones are basically all or none. Plus, it allows me to log into each site at that sites url, which is especially helpful when all my sites are domain mapped. Very good stuff. Thank you!

  11. I did like it at first – but now it won’t disable itself – even when I delete the plguin entirely off the system it still shows my coming soon page and not the actual site. Totally frustrated >_<
